Pain and Despair

Firstly, I am still trying to make sense of this and process it all, so please bear with me if I am rambling on. And if you want to read something cheerful right now, better leave this post for another day. Continue reading
Firstly, apologies for not writing more this year. Eek! I was a bit caught up, and – admittedly – didn’t focus very much on some of the things I love doing. I promise to be better (and more selfish) in the new year. But a lot has happened and I needed some time to adjust and get my head around the new situation. Continue reading
It’s now been nearly two months that someone calls me his girlfriend, that I have a boyfriend. And you won’t believe it, I am still getting used to it. I have been waiting for this for so long, now I seem to struggle to comprehend it. Continue reading
A couple of months ago I tried to convince myself that I need to give a guy a chance. Even if there were little things that I noticed and didn’t like – ‘come on, Anna, don’t dismiss him so easily’ I said. So just to close that loop – I went on a second date with said guy and realised that I couldn’t look past those not so little things. It was a resounding ‘thanks but no thanks’ from me. I started chatting to this guy a few weeks back. He is responsive, funny, interested in me and how I tick. After a few days chatting via the app he suggested to talk on the phone – he called and we talked for nearly two hours. Continue reading
This did not go the way I thought it would. This is the story of the Italian guy, remember my previous post? When I thought I had met a guy who is decent and honest, who likes me and who appreciates me. Well, what a fool I have been. Continue reading
Where do I start? I kept quite quiet about this one, mostly because I didn’t want to jinx it, but also I wanted to avoid that I’ve told everyone around me and then had to explain to the very same people that it is no more. Continue reading
IRL. In real life.
Isn’t it quite astonishing that this is even a phrase? That this is widely used, the hashtag and abbreviation known everywhere? Is it something so special to mark it as ‘real life’ interaction? Why is that? Continue reading
Today’s dating business is a messy business. Those who go out there to find a partner meet those who are out there to just have some fun. Both are legitimate reasons to go on dates, but in real life you would spot the differences quite quickly and decide if you want to get into this. Continue reading
NB: Apologies if this post is a bit too much ‘out there’, but I wanted to put it down as it helps me pinning down my monkey mind. The first few week in the year were hard. I’m not sure why, but I could feel myself drift off again towards that gaping hole of feeling unworthy.
It is the end of January, and it is the first time since my ‘Summer of Change’ half a year ago that I manage to slow down, relax and reflect on what has happened since, take stock of the thoughts that flooded my mind and made me adjust my direction, the realisations and new truths. This sounds rather grand, but it is not really – please bear with me. Continue reading
